Hepatoprotective effect of chewable tablet of Centella asiatica (L.) Urb extractin Wistar rats induced by high fat diets

Gotukola or Centella asiatica (L.) Urban contains high flavonoids which well known as fatty liver protector. This study aimed to evaluate the hepatoprotective effect of chewable tablet C. Urb extract (CTCE) in Wistar rats induced by fat diets. Twenty-one male aged 8-12 weeks with body weight ranging from 100-150 g were used this study. Rats randomly divided into seven groups i.e. Group 1 normal control, given standard food, 2 diets (HFD),Group 3 positive HFD and simvastatin, 4 placebo placebo, 5-7 treatment group, CTCE at doses 100, 200 300 mg/kg BW, respectively. The induction was conducted for five andthe one week last induction. At end intervention, blood triglyceride levels SGPT SGOT activities examined. Analysis variance (ANOVA) confidence interval 95% (p<0.05) applied. results showed that increased serum activity. activity significantly higher than (p<0.05). Furthermore, simvastatin administration reduced 3, 5, 6and 7 lower In addition, 6 conclusion, can reduce HFD.
